New Hyundai Infotainment System Will Be Available in Select 2016 Models!

Hyundai InfotainmentGet ready for innovation, Hyundai fans! The Display Audio system, an all-new smartphone-enabled infotainment system, is set to bring a whole new look and feel to the interiors of select 2016 Hyundai models. The 7-inch color touchscreen interface will be available in Hyundai’s most affordable 2016 models first before the automaker offers it across the entire lineup of entry-level models.

As more and more infotainment systems use smartphone apps and services, very few automakers have made the full leap to a smartphone-enabled system. Designed to work with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, Hyundai’s brand-new Display Audio system will deliver drivers a whole new level of connection capabilities behind the wheel.

“Hyundai will offer more technology than ever before inside affordable Hyundai models, allowing owners not only to text message through voice commands and stream their favorite music apps, but also to make calls in a safer way, and navigate using phone-based, off-board navigation through the car’s screen and controls,” said Cason Grover, senior group manager of cross-carline planning at Hyundai Motor America.

The main difference between the smartphone capabilities you’ll find with most current infotainment systems and the new Display Audio system is the dependence on the smartphone. Now, you have the ability to connect with your phone as you see fit. The smartphone-enabled system relies solely on cellular service. So for people who have their smartphone attached to their hip at all times, the promise of an enhanced connection on the road is music to their ears.

The innovative new system will be unveiled to the public at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in early January, kicking off what should be a terrific year for Hyundai. Nissan LEAF Pulls Paint Prank, Extending “World’s Cleanest Car” Campaign

If you’re worried about getting dirt, mud, or even, say, a bucket of paint spilled on your car, you may not have to worry in the near future. That’s because Nissan continues to test the abilities of the self-cleaning Nissan LEAF. Boasting an innovative self-cleaning nano-paint technology for the stunt, Nissan decided to show off the talents of the one-of-a-kind LEAF with a paint prank video as the first installation of a new social media campaign featuring the “World’s Cleanest Car.”

With the ability to stay clean in the messiest of conditions, Nissan wanted an interactive way to show drivers just how clean the LEAF really is. Through a series of online videos, the social media campaign will showcase a zero-emission LEAF with the self-cleaning nano-paint technology. The videos show how spotless this Nissan can stay, even when it falls victim to a mess like a spilled bucket of blue paint. Passers-by may think this car is ruined, but they’ll instantly realize this isn’t your ordinary vehicle. The stunt is meant to highlight how clean the all-electric, environmentally friendly Nissan LEAF is.

“The LEAF is already one of the cleanest vehicles around even without this incredibly innovative paint technology; that said, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty to take this to the next level,” said Pierre Loing, vice president of product planning at Nissan North America, Inc.

If you’re wondering how this is possible, the Ultra-Ever Drypaint is designed to repel nearly any liquid it encounters. Although the paint isn’t available to the public quite yet, Nissan hopes it’ll soon be time to say goodbye to the annoying dirt, frost or even paint that may come in close contact with your car.

The Ultra-Ever Drypaint isn’t standard on your favorite Nissan models, but this creative campaign is just the first step in displaying its potential use to drivers everywhere. Not to mention, it shows off how truly clean the eco-friendly LEAF is. Visit our Nissan dealership in Tewksbury to test-drive a Nissan LEAF model!
