Last week, Nissan Motor Corporation celebrated its 80th anniversary of moving people by holding a Heritage Car Parade in Yokohama, Japan, where more than 100 Nissan and Datsun heritage cars were put on display. Nissan also released a commemorative “through the years” video, which you can see below.
On behalf of AutoFair Nissan and AutoFair Nissan of Stratham, we’d like to wish you a happy New Year! We may not have been around for all of the past eight decades, but we’re looking forward to being your go-to Nissan dealer for the next 80 years to come!
Every year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) releases its list of vehicle safety awards, handing out TOP SAFETY PICK+ designations to vehicles that received the highest score possible. This year, four models in Honda’s 2014 lineup earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards – the 2014 Honda Accord Coupe and Sedan, Civic Sedan and Odyssey – more than any other automaker out there.
The IIHS evaluates each model on its ability to protect drivers during crashes, conducting front, side, rear, rollover and small overlap front crash tests. For 2014, the IIHS also factored in whether or not a vehicle has the technologies in place to help drivers prevent crashes from happening in the first place. Many of Honda’s vehicles feature available safety technologies such as a Forward Collision Warning system.
If you’ve seen the 2003 version of “The Italian Job,” one of the movie’s most memorable scenes is the car chase near the end. While the protagonists used smart cars for their getaway, they may have been better off in the driver’s seat of a 2014 Nissan Rogue – at least if Nissan’s latest TV ads for the Rogue are any indication.
Nissan chose F. Gary Gray – director of “Law Abiding Citizen” in addition to “The Italian Job” – to direct two “full-throttle action” commercials for the 2014 Rogue. The first ad shows the crossover effortlessly driving atop a commuter train, while the second ad shows the Rogue weaving through traffic and speeding over trolley tracks just in the nick of time. Both commercials feature the song “Y.A.L.A.” by M.I.A.
Want to see the new Rogue’s newly designed exterior and precise handling in action? Check out the commercials below … but definitely don’t try this at home!
