In 2010, Ford introduced to the world the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbocharged diesel engine, which generates 400 horsepower while also delivering best-in-class fuel economy.
Not surprisingly, people took a liking to this never-before-seen combination of power and fuel efficiency – so much so that on Sept. 24 Ford installed the 6.7-liter diesel engine for the half-a-millionth time, building No. 500,000 into a 2014 Ford Super Duty F-350 Lariat.
In addition to generating 400 horsepower, the 6.7-liter turbodiesel engine delivers 800 pound-feet of torque, and can help tow up to 24,700 pounds with the Ford F-450 pickup and up to 26,600 pounds with the F-550 chassis cab.
